Healthy Eating Roadshow

2nd Year pupils recently enjoyed an exciting visit from The Fun Food Company's engaging and educational 'School Food Showdown'.

Inspired by the format of the popular UK TV show Ready, Steady, Cook!, the event delivered an exhilarating experience filled with laughter, interaction, and valuable lessons on healthy eating.

The competition saw two energetic teams, The Red Chilli and The Green Peas, race against the clock to prepare the best balanced, healthy meal using a variety of fresh ingredients. From colorful vegetables and fruits to wholesome meats, pulses, and fragrant herbs, the teams crafted delicious (and rather spicy!) dishes — all within an impressive 15-minute time limit.

But the show wasn't just about the chefs. Pupils from the audience eagerly volunteered to join the action, observing and tasting the creations at the end, as well as voting for their favourite dish. The atmosphere was certainly electric as everyone wanted to have their say.

Through the fun and friendly competition, pupils gained insights into the importance of balanced nutrition and creative cooking. The Good Food Company's visit left a lasting impression, inspiring many students to think differently about food, cooking and healthy eating.

A big thank you to The Good Food Company for bringing this fantastic educational event to Churcher’s College — here’s hoping for more culinary showdowns in the future!
