Nurturing Creativity
We embrace the philosophy that every child is an artist, and offer outstanding resources to encourage artistic exploration and expression. Our investment in the arts includes our brand new light and airy Art Room, opened in 2024, which provides the perfect space for pupils to explore their creativity and try all sorts of creative activities.
Inspiring Young Artists
At Churcher’s, we believe in nurturing your child’s creativity and imagination through a wide variety of exciting art experiences. During art lessons, children can explore all kinds of artistic techniques, from printmaking and pottery to working with textiles—there’s something for everyone to enjoy!
We also offer wonderful after-school clubs that open up even more creative opportunities. For example, Year 6 pupils can try their hand at enamelling or experiment with acrylic inks and resin—perfect for those who love to dive deeper into their artistic passions.
Amazing Art Experiences
Beyond developing practical art skills, we encourage children to think about their work and explore the inspiring world of famous artists. It’s all part of helping them grow as thoughtful, confident creators.
One of the highlights of the year is Churcher’s Arts Week, a special time when the whole school comes together for creative projects. Children also get the unique chance to collaborate with visiting artists, sparking new ideas and making unforgettable memories.

Design Technology Skills
We encourage pupils to explore their creative side through Design Technology activities. This engaging subject helps develop new skills using a range of tools and equipment. They learn to make quality products, gaining a solid understanding of different materials and components.
Our Design Technology curriculum also complements many aspects of art, helping children combine creativity with practical skills. This supports them in becoming thoughtful and resourceful thinkers who can bring their ideas to life in a fun and hands-on way.
Facilities & Projects
We're proud of our fantastic resources, which include a laser cutter, 3D printers, sublimation printing equipment, and enamelling kilns. We also have a kiln for firing and glazing pottery, giving children a wide range of creative possibilities.
In Year 6, the children get to put all their skills together to create some truly impressive final projects. For example, they might design and make a laser-cut clock or a sublimation printed lantern with LED circuitry. These projects are a great way for them to showcase their talents and celebrate their progress.
