Outdoor Learning & Adventure

At Churcher's, we take a rounded view of your child's education, using our fantastic facilities and acres of space to enhance their school experience. By weaving outdoor learning into the school day, we help children deepen their understanding of subjects while encouraging their happiness, health, and creativity to flourish.

Outdoor Learning

Learning outside the classroom is embedded throughout the curriculum. Taking our learning outdoors promotes:

  • Creativity and artistic expression
  • Teamwork and relationship-building
  • Environmentally aware individuals
  • Academic and social skills

A Through-School Approach

Our youngest children delight in the wonders of gardening, sensory play, and exploring the beauty of nature. These activities spark curiosity and joy, laying the foundation for a lifelong love of learning. As pupils grow, outdoor adventures continue with playful bug hunts, imaginative storytelling, and hands-on experiences that bring lessons to life.

As children progress, outdoor learning remains a cherished part of their journey. Whether sharing stories in our Outdoor Classroom, creating scale models of the solar system on the school field, or measuring distance for maths, we embrace every opportunity to take learning beyond the classroom. deepening understanding, and make education an exciting adventure for every child.

    Adventurous Activities

In the Junior School, we provide challenging and adventurous activities that provide the opportunity for children to take risks in a controlled environment. Activities in school may include campfire events in our Outdoor Classroom and Firepit, or teambuilding sessions on our onsite Low Ropes course.

Children also relish the chance to attend residential trips off-site and days out, helping them build confidence and self-esteem. Activities including archery, quad biking, paddleboarding and more, providing exciting opportunities for personal growth and skill development.
