Lower Sixth
Churcher’s College strives to provide a first-class Futures service for our students. We offer a comprehensive programme to inspire and support students throughout their time in the upper Senior School and Sixth Form with dedicated staff specifically for Futures.
During the Lower Sixth, skills such as networking are introduced, and students can practice these at a Networking Evening with a variety of guests. There are also opportunities to refine presentation, interview techniques and other core competencies. We host a Futures Convention each year where students can speak to exhibitors across a vast range of sectors for inspiration, ideas and advice.
Networking Events
Our popular networking events give students the opportunity to network with professionals within various industries, ask questions and get a sense of what to expect from various career routes.
Thank you very much for the timely advice and all the help you have given … she has found you extremely approachable, readily available and informative. The enormous amount of work you do and what you offer is invaluable

University entry preparation
As the Lower Sixth progresses, the focus shifts to researching courses for Higher Education applications. University entry preparation commences with a Higher Education talk delivered by a University Admissions Tutor. A visit to the UCAS Exhibition in March allows students to collect information ahead of the two-day in-house UCAS Conference in June. There are also regular Futures newsletters highlighting opportunities for Taster and Open Days, work experience and everything else relevant to life beyond Churcher’s.
Upper Sixth
As the students move from Lower to Upper Sixth, they are supported by the Sixth Form team in finalising their applications for submission. Further fine tuning of students’ skills then continues with practice interviews by external interviewers, tailored to the course or sector for which the students are applying. A comprehensive programme of support for Oxbridge candidates, as well as those applying for Architecture, Law, Medicine, Dentistry and Veterinary Science, is in place.
