Four of our Lower Sixth girls had an amazing evening in June at the Women of the Future’s 'Asian Women of Achievement Awards.'
Hosted at the Hilton Bankside on the South Bank, we were all blown away by the event and were incredibly inspired by the work and speeches of the finalists and winners. We loved meeting and talking to other guests and shortlisted finalists across Business, Media, Arts & Culture, Technology, Public Service, Science, Humanitarian and Sport amongst other sectors.
The girls were honoured to meet and talk with Pinky Lilani CBE DL, Founder and Chairman of The Women of the Future Programme, listed as one of the 100 most powerful women in the UK by BBC Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour (she was also featured on BBC Radio 4’s Desert Island Discs).
They also met Lady Cherie Blair CBE KC and committed campaigner for women’s rights, which was a cause of much excitement for the girls studying Politics. What a night!
