We are seeking to appoint a dynamic and inspirational Head of Music to play a significant role in our thriving Music department, contributing to the delivery of lessons from EYFS to Year 6 and across a range of different musical activities. The successful applicant will be expected to work with the Head of Drama as part of the performing arts curriculum. The opportunity to link with the Senior School’s music department will also be available. This post is suitable for someone who is highly ambitious for primary school music, is organised and has a strong musical background, and is keen to take Music in a new direction.

We are seeking to employ an inspirational and forward-thinking Physics specialist to join our thriving Science Department. The appointment provides the opportunity to teach well-motivated, hard-working and high achieving pupils at KS 3, 4 and 5. The post would suit either a recently qualified graduate (full ECT induction is available) or a more experienced teacher looking to develop his/her career in a leading independent school.
All pupils study the main three sciences separately through to GCSE. Almost all pupils prepare for the higher tier papers.
In years 1 & 2 (NC years 7 & 8) Churcher’s has developed its own Physics course which follows the requirements for Key Stage 3 but attempts to stretch our pupils further. This course is regularly reviewed and updated and the teacher appointed would be involved in this process.

We are looking to appoint an inspiring and dedicated Teacher of History to join a vibrant and highly successful department. The post provides the opportunity to teach well-motivated, hard-working and high achieving pupils in a leading independent school.
Applicants will be expected to teach History from the First Year through to A Level. History is compulsory at key stage 3. We broadly follow the National Curriculum in the lower school. At GCSE the subject becomes optional and we currently attract over two thirds of the year group. The areas chosen for study are as follows: Year 4: Germany, 1918-45 and International Relations, 1943-72: Year 5: The USA, 1917-1941 and China, 1900-89. At A Level we follow the OCR syllabus and our current areas of study are the French Revolution and the rule of Napoleon 1774-1815, Britain 1930-1997 and: Russia 1855-1964.

Churcher's College seeks to appoint a dynamic, energetic and motivated Sports Graduate to join its sports department. The post will provide an ideal experience/development opportunity for a graduate looking to progress into a sports or education related role in the future.
The successful candidate will assist with the delivery of the Physical Education, Games and Sport Science programmes, working with PE staff across all age groups from Year 7 to Year 13. The applicants should be able to coach at least two of our major sports (Hockey, Netball, Rugby, Cricket, Tennis) to a high level and to also be able to support in a wide range of other sporting activities. The successful candidate will have successfully completed a Sports related degree.

Our Teachers
Our teachers are gifted individuals who are able to inspire pupils with their enthusiasm and subject knowledge. They are committed to high quality teaching and participate in the extra-curricular programme. Most are graduates with postgraduate certificates.
Those without PGCEs are supported to gain the qualifications soon after appointment. Training and professional development programmes are established, and we are experienced in managing Early Career Teachers.
Our staff are both ECTs and experienced teachers; providing a stimulating and rewarding environment. Staff children enjoy a significant reduction in fees. Single local accommodation may be available.
