Pupils Reach Final with Pregnancy Monitoring App

Before lockdown a group of Second Year pupils entered a competition to design an App as part of a national Vodafone Digital Creator’s Challenge.

Comprised of pupils Emma, Annabelle, Meg, and Elise, the team were very excited to progress to the national final (there were only 10 finalists across the UK) with their proposal of an App to support women through each stage of their pregnancy. The device is blue-toothed to an additional piece of hardware to sense movement worn on a waistband, monitoring contractions and alerting the user when the time comes to call the hospital.

Unfortunately the final event was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic. The finalists' entries were instead judged remotely and while unfortunately the Churcher's College team were not deemed the overall winners, they still received very positive feedback and were each sent a prize for reaching the final.
