On Thursday 26 September 12 students from the 5th Year upwards went on an Architecture trip.

The day started at Gunwharf Quay in Portsmouth with a talk from architect Matthew Edwards and landscape architect Ian Jackson. They spoke about their involvement with the Gunwharf development, and then we went for a walk around to see how their ideas came to fruition.

In the afternoon we were hosted by the architecture department of Southampton Solent University, where we listened to a talk by their head of architecture Monkiz Khasreen, followed by a practical session and a tour of the campus.

We had just enough time in Ocean Village on the way home to do some sketching, looking out over the Itchen River and the new developments beyond.
