Churcher's College students are bringing the celebrated play 'Amadeus' to life this March. The run of performances kicks off with two nights at our own Assembly Room followed by the Alton Assembly Rooms on Friday 22nd March and Theatre Royal Winchester on Monday 25th March 2024.

In the court of the Austrian Emperor Joseph II, Antonio Salieri is the most famous and celebrated composer of his age. Salieri pledged himself to God so that he might realise his sole ambition - to be a great composer. Suddenly Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart arrives - a foul-mouthed, graceless lout. Salieri, however, recognises in Mozart the one thing that he craves and, compared to which, he is but a mediocrity - true genius. How could God give the imbecile Mozart this great gift and leave the worthy Salieri to burn in jealousy? Slowly but surely, Salieri plots Mozart's downfall.

Two years after their last sell-out visit to Alton Assembly Rooms and Winchester Theatre Royal with Ray Cooney's farce, It Runs In The Family, Churcher's College return with a new production of Peter Shaffer's brilliant play.
