A total of 120 students in Third Year took part in a challenging but rewarding two-day expedition in the New Forest.

The New Forest is notoriously difficult to navigate and at various points most of the teams got lost and had to re-orientate themselves. Although the weather was good, the terrain was often water-logged and boggy, adding to the tricky environment.

Despite this, the students were enchanted by the beauty of the New Forest and their encounters with free-roaming animals (including ponies with foals, deer and donkeys). They also encountered adders, ticks and midges - one donkey even made off with a student's lunch! All new experiences which helped to build resilience in our intrepid explorers and made for brilliant stories to be told to friends and family.

We want to say a big well done to all who took part.
