Last week the Senior School held a Rubik's Cube competition.
Six pupils battled it out to see who could solve a 3x3 cube in the shortest time.
Each cube is scrambled using official World Cube Association algorithms and placed inside a box so that it can’t be seen. The participant then gets 15 seconds to analyse the cube and start their solving attempt.
Each participant completes four solves and the average of their best three times are taken. The results are as follows:
Reuben B. (1st year) – 23.20 seconds
Jake L. (1st year) – 31.31 seconds
Reuben Q. (1st year) – 39.10 seconds
Kieran K. (5th year) – 13.61 seconds
Toby J. (5th year) – 14.20 seconds
Sid B. (5th year) – 39.28 seconds
Congratulations to Kieran K. on achieving the quickest time! This surpasses the pervious Churcher’s record set by Hugh C. of 19.10 seconds.
