Recently, Sixth Formers Will and Adam designed their own hiking route and named it “Churcher’s Way”. At 44 km long it runs from Churcher’s Senior School to Funtington Churchyard and the grave of the school’s Founder Richard Churcher. They completed the route in 7 hours and 22 mins and even bumped into Mr Rowley, Head of Adventurous Activities along the way!

The unstoppable pair are now planning an even bigger challenge. In the first week of September Will and Adam have planned 4 days of hiking in the Yorkshire Dales. Day 1 is the Yorkshire 3 peaks challenge, a 24-mile route with 1585m of ascent going over Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough. The next 3 consecutive days will be dedicated to the Dales Way, an 80-mile route from Ilkley to Bowness-on-Windermere.

The pair have decided to use this challenging week to raise money for Mountain Rescue as a thank you to them for their hard work which fortunately, they say, they have never needed during their time hiking in the UK.

Will has started a fundraiser on GoFundMe which can be found here: https://bit.ly/30qTIjq and has also been in touch with Mountain rescue who have made a facebook post which can be seen here: https://bit.ly/33k9VJ8 to also raise awareness of the event.

Please do support them if you can.
