On Friday 5th of October, Captains of College Tildy and Jake attended a leadership conference for local Captains of College at Wellington College.

They tell of their experience in their own words:

"The morning consisted of a number of talks about the most important aspects our role, including public speaking and the legacy we would like to leave as Captains. We also took part in a networking session where we were able to discuss with other Captains the varying processes by which the prefect body at different schools was elected.

Group sessions in the afternoon allowed us to discuss various issues which we might encounter in a school day, and how to effectively resolve these issues. They ranged from problems with bullying to uniform issues. These sessions enabled us to share our own ideas, as well as receive inspiration from other Captains.

A large topic that discussed during the group sessions, and one that we would like to leave Churcher’s having achieved, was the idea of inclusivity, and ensuring everyone in the school feels they are valued and their voices are heard. We discussed the possibility of meeting with the lower school and hearing their opinions on how the school is run, which is something we feel we’re working towards achieving in school council."
