Gold DofE Awards at Buckingham Palace

Nine Churcher's College Sixth Form students were invited to Buckingham Palace recently to receive their Gold Duke of Edinburgh's Award certificates.

Students Annie, Catriona, Emily, Samuel, Felix, Marcus, Benjamin, Charlie and Barney were all thilled to attend the award ceremony.

The special guest presenting the awards was inspirational British firefighter, psychologist and writer, Sabrina Cohen-Hatton was homeless at 16, selling The Big Issue until she went on to become a fire-fighter, completing an Open University degree and PhD degree in Psychology. She is now Chief Fire Officer of the West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service.

Sabrina encouraged the young people receiving the award to have great expectations based on their own beliefs of what they can achieve.
