Children at Churcher’s College Junior School & Nursery had been hoping for a visit from Father Christmas this year, and were treated to a big surprise today as it turned out that he and two of his best reindeer, Donner and Blitzen, who had been conducting a trial run, had crash-landed in the School’s pond enclosure!
Headteacher, Mrs Ffion Robinson, shared an important news flash with the children via video call this morning to their classrooms with an announcement about what had happened.
With huge excitement and great relief that all was well, each class of children were then able to walk outside to the sounds of ‘Ho Ho Ho!’ from Father Christmas in his crash-landed sleigh and see his reindeer. Of course, Santa’s presents had fallen out of his sack, too and had ended up in a surprise grotto (which coincidentally had been set up by the Parents’ Association not long before!).
The children all chatted merrily with Father Christmas from across the fence, learned about the reindeer magic and received a present each. To help him and the reindeer muster up the magic needed to get back to the North Pole, the whole community passed on their best Churcher’s College Junior School & Nursery Christmas festive cheers and good wishes to Father Christmas to send them on their way.
Thank you, Father Christmas, for your surprise visit and good luck and safe travels on Christmas Eve!
