An action-packed week of sport saw girls from U8-U11 taking part in football festivals at Portsmouth Grammar School and Longacre School in March.

For the teams heading to Longacre, the action kicked off on Wednesday afternoon with nine U11 girls taking to the pitch with the sun beaming down, and doing fantastically well throughout. They went unbeaten in their five matches, winning two and drawing three, whilst scoring seven goals and not conceding any.

We were particularly impressed with their teamwork, energy, enthusiasm, and maturity.

These factors enabled them to play lovely passing football, score some brilliant goals, and defend outstandingly.

Thursday saw the U9 girls in action, who were just as determined to put in a strong display. They conducted themselves excellently throughout the afternoon, which translated into positive performances on the pitch.

The team also went unbeaten in their five matches, winning two and drawing three, whilst scoring five goals and only conceding one.

The areas that stood out were their hard work, resilience and enjoyment shown in every match that they played, resulting in some great goals being scored, and astute defending.

Everyone who represented the school should be very proud of themselves, because we certainly are.
