Throughout the first half of the Autumn Term, Year 2 had been busy honing their football skills, and were excited to showcase their abilities to both parents and teachers at the U7 Football Festival.
The festival featured a range of fun team challenges, including 'beat the teacher' and penalty shoot-out activities.
Additionally, the in-house matches allowed the children to apply what they had learned in a competitive setting, further enhancing their understanding of the game.
The festival was rounded off with a tasty match tea, providing an opportunity for everyone to bond with their teammates and reflect both on victories as well as lessons learned from challenges faced.
Events like this are a great introduction into competitive sport for younger children, building not only physical fitness but also teamwork, leadership, resilience and perseverance. Well done, Year 2!
