Year 6 Meet Damian Hinds MP at the Houses of Parliament

Year 6 visit the Houses of Parliament and the Tower of London as part of their Citizenship Curriculum.

A picture of the future government perhaps? Year 6 enjoyed a Q&A with Damian Hinds, East Hampshire MP, after an amazing tour of the Houses of Parliament. They were able to stand near the despatch box in the Commons and walk through the elaborate House of Lords, with guides explaining the process of law making and voting.

Following their Houses of Parliament tour, the children travelled by boat on the Thames and visited the Tower of London. Here they learnt how Kings and Queens of the past controlled their subjects with gruesome torture on one hand and the majesty of the Crown Jewels on the other.

A full-on, fun-packed day to continue their Citizenship Curriculum which the children thoroughly enjoyed.
