Junior School visit Southampton City Art Gallery

Last term, Class 4 travelled back in time to the Ancient Greeks when they visited Southampton City Art Gallery.

They learnt all about the story of Perseus and Medusa through the paintings in an exhibition.  The children used drama to look carefully at the pictures and retell the story.  They also had a practical workshop to make a Medusa head out of clay and different materials.  Mrs Roberts, class teacher said, “It was a great experience which enabled the children to learn interactively about the Ancient Greek myths as well as experience visiting an art gallery.”
