OC Harry Charles Makes Olympics Debut at Tokyo 2020

Old Churcherian Harry Charles (17) has been in competition today at the first individual round in show jumping at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

Harry, the son of Olympic gold medallist Peter Charles MBE, had originally travelled to Tokyo as a reserve for the British Olympic show jumping team. However he was drafted in at the last minute to represent his country in place of Holly Smith with horse Denver.

This will be Harry's debut appearance at the Olympics at the age of just 22-years-old. He takes a 12-year-old Zangersheide gelding, Romeo 88, into competition. A horse previously under top ranking Irish rider, Darragh Kenny, the gelding has plenty of experience under his belt. Meanwhile, Harry and the bay have been seen ever improving results on the international circuit.
