On 1st November Liza Gamblin came to speak about the story of Montezuma’s chocolates which was started by two London lawyers who were disillusioned with practising law but developed a passion for chocolate.

The audience was mainly A level Business and Economics students along with a couple of chocolate loving parents and pupils from lower down the school.

In an energetic and enthusiastic talk Liza explained how the business that began as home production now supplies Sainsbury’s, Waitrose, John Lewis as well as other on-line companies like Moonpig and supermarkets overseas such as Trader Joe in the US.

Their sales were valued at £15M last year, up 20% on the previous year. Liza described the main trends in the market such as the growth of veganism.
