Poppy and Ollie's Sailing Success

Below is an article written by Year 6 pupil Poppy on her IAPS sailing competition results along with her teammate Oliver:

"On Wednesday 16 May the under 11 IAPS sailing team went to Weymouth.

We fought hard against 30 other Zest boats, especially certain school teams who were amazing oppie sailors. Ollie helmed well and steered some amazing starts. I crewed well and I made some really good tacks with the jib.

We won the first race with a big lead, in the second race we came second, sadly in the third race we came fourth due to a bad start. But fortunately we won the last race with another big lead, so in the end we won overall. Thank you to Mr Forbes for letting us go and to IAPS for organising the event and finally Ollie’s Dad for taking us there."
