The issue of corruption and violence in Venezuela

In March, Lower Sixth members of the Model United Nations Club debated the issue of corruption and violence in Venezuela.

With delegates from Venezuela, Russia, India, Chile, Peru, Guyana and France, pupils had to argue and debate from the point of view of their given country.

Debate was certainly fierce, with Russia tabling an initial resolution with support from several countries, who in the process of debate, switched their vote to support a resolution from France that a new election be held in Venezuela under the supervision of UN officials and peacekeeping troops.

All delegates were suitably refreshed with Krispy Kreme donuts for their hard work and effort! It was great to have the club back together again and we look forward to the next conference.
