A wonderful night was had by all at Churcher's College's Grand Summer Concert held at Cadogan Hall in London on 2 July 2018.
This was a very special evening as it was the school's first visit to this prestigious venue.
Performances on the night were put on by the main, larger ensembles in the school - the Lower School Orchestra (which consisted of the Lower School Wind Band and Lower School Strings), the Jazz Band, the Senior Wind Band, and the Senior Orchestra.
Some of our Upper Sixth musicians, who left school this summer, also got together for one final performance as well as a real treat for the audience - our Lower Sixth A Capella Ensemble - a pupil-led group which was formed a few year ago and whom had written the performed medley entirely themselves.
The second half of the concert entirely featured our many choirs in the Senior School, who joined together as one large ensemble for a fantastic performance of 'Zimbe!' by Alexander L'Estrange.
The comperes for the evening were Crispin Glancy and Adam Tutt, who deftly guided the audience through the evening.
Performances included a brass fanfare to begin the evening, Getaway and Sing, Sing, Sing, and Dancing in the Moonlight, as well as many pieces from stage and screen such as Highlights from 'How to Train Your Dragon', A Journey Through Film, Music for a Darkened Theatre, and Star Wars 'The Force Awakens'.
Everyone agreed the evening was a brilliant success with such a high musical talent on display. Well done to all the performers.
